Andy Holcroft works as a chef at Grub Kitchen at the Bug Farm near St Davids where he helps his wife Dr Sarah Beynon run an incredible information facility and farm for nature recovery projects.
In a collaboration here at Rookwood and Llanunwas, Andy does much of the meadow management for our local nature recovery ambitions, operating the large farm equipment with ease.
He is multi-talented and we once discovered at a Christmas party for the biological records centre what a gifted Fiddle player he is. He has regularly played in local bands.
He has two other passions: running the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (considerable distances!) and, often at the same time, taking magnificent photographs of our amazing scenery here.
He uses a Canon 5dIV for much of the landscape, resorting to operating a drone with a good optical lens for aerial views of project progress; and he uses an OM1 with new digital facilities such as focus stacking for his incredible macro photography of bugs!
We are glad to print Andy’s photographs here at Rookwood onto archival high quality papers with lightfast inks so that they will look this good long into the future.
