TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT FOR ARTISTS & PHOTOGRAPHERS
WHAT ROOKWOOD ART & PRINT OFFERS
We offer online and physical product marketing, sales, printing, packaging and posting for reproductions of your artwork. We will need high quality digital images of your artwork to do this at our very high fine art standard. Please see repro services if you require us to make the digital images of your artworks for you. We use an extremely fast cloud-based server to deliver web images speedily and efficiently. We limit the resolution and downloading of web images to a maximum dimension of 1500 pixels to avoid piracy of high resolution digital copies.
ELIGIBILITY
Rookwood Art & Print will strive to maintain a high standard in the art that we manage for you. If your art meets this standard then you will be eligible to join Rookwood Art & Print print on demand service providing your art celebrates the natural world in some way. Your art can be abstract and be of further afield than West Wales. Any artist is welcome to apply using the this form or by email with some examples and a brief description of their work. We will require a photograph and short biography for the website and for the printed catalogue.
MARKETING ONLINE
We will provide you with a web presence in the form of an artist page on our website and product pages for each of your artworks. We will provide search engine optimisation and publicity through our website, through a regular newsletter to our client base, through social media and through google merchant centre for your prints. You can also market your print products at exhibitions and we can provide details, QR codes etc to direct customers to the respective product pages.
MARKETING WITH PRINTED CATALOGUES
We can also include your images physically in display copy (A4 size) at the Natural Gallery in Solva and, at smaller size, in print catalogues which will be sold at cost through the gallery and through Amazon Kindle and Ingram Sparc Publishing House. QR codes displayed alongside your images will direct potential customers to your artwork product pages.
SALES
Customers will pay the sale price up front and we charge a 25% commission or the print fee if this is larger than 25% of the sale price. Sale price is set by you. Print fee is calculated on the basis of print size and paper. Normally we recommend a paper for you and print the artworks life-size. You can also specify different print products for each artwork but each one will count as one artwork product on the system. Customers may also contact us if they require a specific print size which will be discussed with you. We provide an estimate of the print fee to you so that you can decide a sale price that gives you adequate return while factoring for affordability. But print fees may be expected to rise with inflation over time.
PRINTING
This is not a bulk image processing and automated procedure. We specialise in the meticulous reproduction of fine art pieces with careful colour management throughout. Our printing meets all the standards for giclée prints (99% of pantone colours, lightfastness of ink and paper up to 200 years, 300 – 600dpi resolution). We require one week to produce the prints once ordered. We will supply an additional certificate of authenticity with each print sale, if you choose this option.
DISTRIBUTION
We use the best available couriers for speedy collect and delivery within one week (following print production) for UK customers.
IMAGE LIBRARY
Rookwood Art & Print also represents an effective image curation, storage and backup facility. Images are exchanged with you using a Google Drive folder or making use of your other solutions. Our facility requires server space and google drive space.
